IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced Holiday Inn signing in Dandenong, Australia, making it its fifth hotel with the Pelligra Group. The new agreement joins the other properties built in this partnership, which include Holiday Inn Melbourne Airport, the newly opened Holiday Inn Werribee, and upcoming Holiday Inn Melbourne Richmond and Crowne Plaza Melbourne Carlton.
IHG’s Director of Development for Australasia & Pacific, Jael Fischer, said:
“The Holiday Inn brand has undergone a huge, global transformation over the last 18 months, unveiling a level of next-generation design which is making leisure and business travellers take note, fast tracking the brands growth across the region. This will be our fifth hotel with the Pelligra Group and we are honoured to be working with the team again to bring this completely refurbished Holiday Inn to the Dandenong community and build on our network in Victoria.”
Formerly known as the Ramada Encore by Wyndham Dandenong, the hotel will undergo a state-of-the-art AUD10 million (US$7.36 million) refurbishment. The opening of a Holiday Inn is planned for April 2022. The renovated hotel will feature 108 refurbished guestrooms and an additional 18 new rooms. The lobby will incorporate Holiday Inn’s Open Lobby concept. Located around 30 kilometres from Melbourne, Holiday Inn Dandenong is expected to become a central hub for visitors in a growing area, which includes new infrastructure projects, big business headquarters, universities and potentially a new sports stadium and events centre.
