Accor to open new Sofitel hotel in Australia
Accor is planning to open a new Sofitel hotel in September in Adelaide, Australia. Sofitel Adelaide will deliver a mix of old-world charm and modern design, all with a decidedly whimsical twist. It will be the first brand's luxury hotel in South Australia and the first internationally recognized five-star hotel to be built in Adelaide in 30 years.
Simon McGrath, Accor Pacific CEO, said:
“Adelaide is an ideal destination for our Sofitel brand. The hotel’s design reflects the distinct sense of style and sophistication of Sofitel. Sofitel Adelaide is one of our biggest hotel openings of 2021 and its level of luxury and onsite amenities will ensure it’s one of Adelaide’s most illustrious new destinations.”
Located on Currie Street in Adelaide, the AUD150 million Sofitel hotel is designed by P49 DEESIGN, an award-winning global interior design practice specializing in hotels and resorts. The hotel features 251 guestrooms and suites with residential-style interiors and open concept bathrooms.
Sofitel Adelaide is part of a 32-story mixed-use tower by Palumbo Group, which also houses one of the tallest residential developments in South Australia. The hotel and its leisure and business facilities occupy the first 24 floors and includes a restaurant, two bars, a swimming pool, health and fitness center, meeting and private dining rooms and a Club Lounge.
